"West Yorkshire's answer to Kings of Leon" - Chris Hawkins, BBC 6 Music
Leeds-based four piece The Loose Cut have been going from strength to strength since their emergence onto the local music scene in 2018. With an infectious energy - both on and off stage - the band are a powerhouse to be reckoned with, especially with the heavier sound of singles ‘Come Around’ and ‘Hypnosis’, and in two short years they have built up a reputation for incendiary live performances that leave audiences baying for more. Lead singer George Fayle’s vocals captivate audiences, demanding attention, layered over a velvety yet often grittier sound.
Emerging from their triumphant sets at Reading & Leeds Festival 2019 on the BBC Introducing Stage, their single ‘Demons’ created such social media activity that it found itself included on Spotify’s "Hot New Bands" playlist.
A year on, the band have released their latest single ‘Haunt’. The song has already received air play and high praise from BBC 6 Music DJ Chris Hawkins, dubbing the band "West Yorkshire's answer to Kings of Leon" and calling the track "a real anthem"
It sees the band experimenting with new styles whilst still sticking to their rock ‘n’ roll roots - and represents the latest stage of a band that never stops evolving and refuses to stand still - think Beatles harmonies meets the fairground ride of riffs, hooks, and hellacious swagger of rock’s last remaining outlaws, Queens of the Stone Age.
