Man & The Echo is an eclectic and strange thing from Warrington, UK, famed for their perfectly formed Political Pop with a huge dose of satire thrown in.
The four-piece create music for the modern person, known to make the listener think long and hard about the world we live in. The band so far have released two LP’s; the first being their eponymous debut album on James Endeacott’s 1965 Records in 2016 and the second on Still Nil Nil released in 2019 and produced by Raf Rundell of The 2 Bears.
Both albums were named as “Album of The Day” on BBC 6 Music and singles from each also made it on to the 6 Music playlist. Man & The Echo have supported acts such as The Coral, She Drew The Gun and The Divine Comedy on their UK and European album tour. September 2022 saw the release of the 30-minute release “Simulacra”, which is part 1 of a 2 part album. One of the most underrated bands on the roster, MATE’s stage show is part theatre, part music and part genius and already feels like a “greatest hits” production having had so much support on BBC Radio 6 Music and Radio X over the years.

Man & The Echo are heading back out on tour in Spring 2024. This time with a very special series of acoustic shows which sees the band presenting stripped back versions of songs from their back catalogue as they’ve never been heard before, plus some brand new material from the upcoming EP “Dead Centre” which is set for release in the new year.
The band will be hitting some towns and cities for the very first time, as well as playing their most intimate shows for years in Manchester and London. M&TE’s live shows are renowned, mixing new wave, classic pop, soul, disco and spoken word, so don’t miss the chance to see them in all their glory, up close and personal (not too close, please).
"Combining witty, acerbic, splenetic, cutting, incisive, observational, political and sometimes laugh out loud funny words in a way that is catchy, melodic, singalong and sometimes even danceable is quite an achievement, and one that singer Gaz Roberts manages to pull off with ridiculous ease. To my mind it's radio gold. Even when it's too sweary to be played on the radio!" - John Kennedy - Radio X
“Such a great band; melodic, inventive, aggressive yet thoughtful. Their day in the sun must surely come.” – Neil Hannon, The Divine Comedy
‘Man & The Echo are one weird bunch of blokes but strangely made themselves look really cool." - indiecentralmusic.com
