IndifferentMonkey & FMA + 12 Gage

Not one but two great acts that we absolutely adore here at The Conti!

INDIFFERENTMONKEY

“They're kind of like a trip-hop indie-rock hybrid band, which is really my thing. I just love their sound and I think there's huge potential for them to go on to big things” - Chris Hawkins BBC6music DJ

"If you haven't seen this band live I urge you to, they really are something special. I've seen a few 'up and coming bands’ at the time at Lancaster Uni that I rated, Queen, Wishbone Ash, Dire Straits, Chris Rea, Duran Duran, Tom Petty, Pogues, Huey Lewis etc and I rate this band too". - Barry Lucas "Mr Rock N’Roll” - Legendary band promotor and author of “When rock Went to College”.

IndifferentMonkeY bring you Trip Hop Rock guaranteed to blow you away. The band have enjoyed early successes, with airplay on the BBC and KCRW in LA, America. Last year they were winners of the Best Band 22 award in London (and will be headlining this years award ceremony at the legendary Bedford in Bahlam, London.

The music is best described as Trip Hop Rock (think Massive Attack, Black Sabbath and Daft Punk). They are currently working on their second album which will define them.

It’s been quite a year or so for INDIFFERENTMONKEY… Headlining in London as last years winners of the Best Band 22 Award, getting picked by Chris Hawkins from BBC6music to open on the main stage at Lancaster’s Highest Point (out of hundreds of Bands across Lancashire!), interviewed on BBC introducing, headlining Nice N Sleazy.

FMA + 12 GAGE

“The father and son of unholy flows spit with a unique, roughly-hewn, Prestonian intensity” Tom O’Boyle – Metal Hammer

FMA + 12 GAGE are a multi-award-winning father and son rap duo from Preston. Their music is built around creative lyrics and tightly woven, imaginative dual vocals. Combining the aggression of metal and the verbal skills of hip-hop with the energy of youth and the experience of age, they create hybrid songs that are a fusion of high energy rap, electronic, metal and dance music.

They have performed all over the country, written for award-winning TV shows and films, and have also featured on TV Asahi in Japan and other worldwide streaming services. In 2019 they were chosen to be the face of the Give us a break anti bullying campaign and their charity song Spectrum gained nationwide coverage. A common phrase heard at any of their performances is, ‘I don’t normally like rap, but I liked that!’

Energy, skill and passion transcends genres.

The pair face many mental health difficulties that stem from Autism and Dyslexia and they use their creations as a form of expression and to combat the issues that they both deal with in their day to day lives. They have given talks on how to be creative and how creativity can benefit mental health. They have also been invited to speak in schools, prisons and at health conferences about their struggles. Helping others is an important part of what they do.

FMA + 12 Gage are a glimpse of reality in a world of insanity. They don’t write about money, drugs or women, they write about the darkness inside their minds.

They are an act unlike any other…
