ECSTATIC VISION
Psych Rock machine ECSTATIC VISION just released their new album "Elusive Mojo" and will release “Live at Duna Jam LP and DVD” in Spring 2023.
"Elusive Mojo" finds the band firing on all cylinders with this unhinged, raw and dangerous new album. The band continues down their unique warpath mixing Heavy Psych Rock, Detroit-Rock, Proto-Punk, and World Music.
The album contains caveman grooves that would rattle the remaining teeth out of the Asheton brother’s skulls, scorching saxophones that would have made Nik Turner feel high on a potent mix of speed and Viagra, and basslines hot enough to melt down the Lemmy statue…
The Philadelphia trio have toured with metal acts like YOB and Enslaved, and they’re signed to the metal-associated label Relapse Records, and they look like a metal band.
But ECSTATIC VISION bring tripped-out, sun-baked, cloud-high psychedelic jams drawing from improjazz, Krautrock, and Afrobeat, resulting in music that lives up to the lofty promises made in both the band’s name and their debut album’s title - “Raw Rock Fury”. To the extent this stuff might be conflated, confused, or associated with metal.
More aptly, though, it recalls the old Spacemen 3 album title (and mission statement), “Taking Drugs To Make Music To Take Drugs To”. (To be fair, we have no idea if any of the guys in Ecstatic Vision have ever so much as considered a single toke; their music, though, suggests they have vast experience with all number of hallucinogens.)
“From cosmic f*ckery to interstellar shove-blues, Ecstatic Vision [...] is a space-weirdo dreamboat of wash-creation and spacial anomaly.” — theobelisk.net
TERO KULERO
A four piece psych rock outfit from Preston, TERO KULERO mix sludgy riffs, cosmic drones and pulsing synth lines, stew it all up in a big, bubbling pot of reverb and then serve it out to all and sundry. Seen here at The Continental as ‘sound carriers’ for the legendary Damo Suzuki of CAN!
“Thumping, hypnotic riffs and brilliant, pulsating climaxes”- Getintothis
TIM HOLEHOUSE
Tim Holehouse is one of the hardest-working musicians out there. For nearly 20 years he has been touring the globe. His inspiration is coming from a variety of sources from Punk, Hardcore, Blues, Jazz, Country, Experimental music, Heavy Metal and even Electronic music. He is not very keen to be boxed in as a song writer or certain style. Each album has a different take on his personality and the music is very much written from the heart about subjects he either is interested in or his personal experiences.
