PART OF PRESTON JAZZ & IMPROVISATION FESTIVAL
COLD BATH STREET have been one of the mainstays of this festival since it began as Preston Jam in 2017. For the group, known for its musical integrity, no-safety-net improvisations and championing of grassroots music making, 2025 marks the end of one era and the beginning of a fascinating new one.
This very special night sees the launch of CBS Director Simon Partridge's book 'Music Improvisation Magic' - the result of more than ten years research with the group. It also features the final concert of the the Preston-based band before the project metamorphosizes into workshops, talks and sessions across the UK. As is only fitting for the occasion, as well as providing a brand-new live interpretation of the 'Dream of Space' soundtrack, CBS welcome the return of alumni to the stage.
This will be one MEMORABLE final jam!
"It's been such a privilege doing what we've done and working with all the people we've worked with. We'll all still be making music, but this is the last time we'll do it together in this form, so please do join us for a big send off." (Dr.Simon Partridge)
