If like us you’ve missed the big screen experience, the escapism it allows and the delight in discovering new cinema then worry no longer, as The Continental is proud to introduce, Cinema at The Continental, a fortnightly event taking place in our dedicated event space, ‘The Boatyard.’

The choice of films on offer will be as varied as the drinks available in the bar. For our first screening the film has been selected, but subsequently we will be using a vote system that gives you the choice of three films, the film with the highest amount of votes is then selected for the next screening! Expect a diverse array of films on offer, old favourites, hidden gems, cult classics and recent releases. We’d also be delighted to hear of any recommendations you may have!

Safety measures will be maintained, with hand sanitiser available for use upon entering, staff wearing gloves to handle money transactions and chairs and tables socially distanced. We have also made changes to how you go about collecting drinks; via our app you can order drinks to ‘The Boatyard’ so you needn’t leave the cinematic experience for long.

For those coming to The Cinema at The Continental on Tuesday 1st Sept here's a few tips for you…

Unfortunately Preston's still under local lock down so for now you can only sit with with members of your household or if single, your chosen social bubble household

Order your drinks on entry to the Pub, letting the waiter know you're here for the Cinema.(drinks have to be paid by card)

If you want further drinks during the performance that's fine just find a waiter in the bar and place your order .The tables are numbered. Drinks will be brought to the foyer

Alternatively if If you have the app or want to download it in advance you're welcome to use that, we expect Tuesday to be quiet so it's your choice. If you do order from the app during the performance drinks will be brought to the foyer please leave it a few minutes before you go to collect

Entry to the film is cash only, you will be allocated seats on arrival
