Make Americana Great Again ft. The Jonny Oates Band

Thursday, 20 July 2017 - 8:00pm

Make Americana Great Again is a new night that aims to bring you great music from songwriters and bands doing their version of modern Americana from across the UK. If you like the likes of: Wilco, Richmond Fontaine, War On Drugs, Ryan Adams, Sparklehorse, Drive By Truckers and that kind of music, then this night is for you. No line dancing happens here.

Headliners The Jonny Oates Band are a Rock / Country  / Jazz / Blues / Indie / Alternative band from Brindle, Preston, Lancashire, named "Discovery of the Year," at U.S radio station Indie Music People.

The Low Highway are a new Americana 6 piece band based in Preston with members from all over Lancashire, drawn together for their love of the Americana sound. Expect a driven, melodic and rhythm heavy sound featuring contemporary and classic Americana.

Matt Grayson is doing a solo set. His band Walton Hesse released their eponymous debut lp 2 years back to great acclaim and have been part of the Americana scene in the UK for years. Matt's music has been described as Manchester's answer to Wilco and the British Sparklehorse. His mellow voice, combined with deft lyrics will leave the audience spellbound.

This first MAKE AMERICANA GREAT AGAIN night is happening on Thursday 20th July. Doors open at 8pm.
