Damson Poets

Damson Poets is on the 25th September and will be held in the Snug. This month we welcome Nicolas Guy Williams and Christine Burke.
 
Nicolas Guy Williams started writing in 1988. Gained a Fine Art Degree in 1992 in Cardiff. Poems have appeared in various anthologies including ‘Words against War’ by The Accidental Poets. Performed with fellow Damsons at the Picture the Poet Exhibition and is in videos on the National Portrait Gallery Website. Has been involved with Damson Poets since the beginning. Nick also wrote and performed as part of the small group the 4 poets performance project and the group Guests Of The Earth. He published 7 books which are fragments of one epic poetry collection. Nick has lived in Malta, Britain, France and China.
 
Christine Burke is a Lancashire Lass, language graduate and poet.  Her first attempt at writing was a gardening book A Year in my Garden, which led to talks, garden tours and teas, and fame!  at least fifteen minutes worth…  A member of Manchester stanza Real Live Poets, Southport Writing Circle and now Damson poets, she collaborates with an illustrator for images to enhance her poetry.  These can be seen on Instagram at 'reallivepoet'. She has also experimented with film poems and has had various poems, pamphlets and two film poems short and longlisted.
 
There will be open mic slots for people to sign up for on the night. Each slot is a maximum of 5 minutes. The start time is 7-30pm and we finish at 9-30pm. Free entry.
